AN L-SHAPED SPACE THAT RISKED UNDERMINING THE PLEASURE OF BEING TOGETHER AND MAKING THE PROJECT FEEL DATED IF THE TWO AREAS HAD REMAINED CLEARLY SEPARATED.

A peninsula kitchen finished in rustic materials

This project focused on preserving the original tranquillity of a country house overlooking the vineyards of the Costa Blanca, its rich views and rustic character, while introducing a subtle touch of modernity. The kitchen is a perfect example: every choice is driven by functionality, while staying true to the essence of the home. Its long peninsula, positioned in front of a window, invites sharing and connection, offering the ideal setting for enjoying moments with friends.

A peninsula layout was chosen with the intention to preserve a rustic character while embracing a contemporary feel, maintaining a connection between two areas and supported a shared experience even within the food prep space.

The combination of rustic and modern is expressed through the choice of materials and finishes: natural knotty wood, echoing the ceiling beams, paired with sleek black metal display units that add a more minimalist and contemporary touch. The worktop ties this design narrative together, evoking the look of marble while being crafted from durable, easy-to-maintain porcelain stoneware.
